IDF Says Gaza Strikes Killed Islamic Jihad Weapons Official and Hamas Sniper
Israel's military said Thursday evening that strikes in Gaza killed Rashid al-Qachi, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad weapons-production official, and Abdullah Baha al-Din Razak al-Souti, a Hamas sniper. The IDF said al-Qachi was involved in manufacturing and supplying weapons for Islamic Jihad's military wing, while al-Souti operated in Hamas's military arm in northern Gaza. The military said both men's recent activity posed a threat to Israeli forces, so they were targeted from the air in separate strikes. The announcement underscores Israel's continued effort to remove immediate terrorist threats while its forces remain deployed in Gaza under the current security framework.
