Nahlaot Airbnb Stabbing Kills 19-Year-Old, Israel 2026 Homicide Toll Hits 180

A 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed inside a short-term Airbnb rental on Shirazel Street in Jerusalem's Nahlaot neighborhood on Saturday evening, becoming Israel's 180th homicide victim of 2026, 150 of them from the Arab community. Magen David Adom paramedics performed CPR while evacuating him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where doctors pronounced his death. Jerusalem District Deputy Commissioner Avshalom Peled arrived on scene and the Zion Region Crimes Unit launched extensive sweeps as officers set up roadblocks on Begin Boulevard. Police assess the killing as a criminal brawl and a possible settling of accounts. Neighbors said they had complained repeatedly about drugs and prostitution operating out of the rental. Overnight arrests brought in five suspects ages 16 to 18, including girls, plus an adult woman accused of aiding them.
