Gunfire Damages Herzliya Japanika Branch After Overnight Grenade Attacks

Gunfire damaged the windows of a Japanika restaurant in Herzliya on Tuesday morning, causing property damage but no injuries, according to police reports. Glilot station officers and forensic investigators closed the scene and began collecting evidence. The shooting followed overnight grenade attacks on Japanika branches in Netanya and Afula, where no casualties were reported. Police are examining whether the three incidents are linked to a wider criminal dispute, while investigators are collecting security-camera footage and forensic evidence across the scenes.

Difference in reporting

Sources factually disagree on the number of Japanika branches targeted in the wider series: The Jerusalem Post calls Herzliya the fourth branch, while Mako lists six branch incidents and Walla says more than five branches were targeted. The remaining facts are uniform: a shooting or bullet impacts were reported at the Herzliya branch, no one was injured and police opened an investigation.
