Tanker Struck by Unknown Projectile Northeast of Qalhat, Oman

A tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in its starboard-side engine room 40 nautical miles northeast of Qalhat, Oman, the vessel's master reported. The warning listed the report time as 21:04 UTC Monday, shortly after midnight Tuesday in Israel. The entire crew was safe and accounted for, and no environmental impact was reported. Maritime authorities advised vessels to transit with caution and report suspicious activity, and said the incident remained under investigation. The reports did not identify the tanker, its flag, cargo or the party responsible for the strike.
