Tanker Hit by Unknown Projectile Off Oman, Crew Safe

A tanker was hit by an unknown projectile on Friday while sailing about 19 nautical miles east of Khasab, Oman, British maritime authorities said. The projectile struck the vessel's port side and caused minor structural damage. All crew members were reported safe and accounted for, with no environmental impact, while authorities investigated the source of the attack. The incident came amid renewed U.S.-Iran fighting over the Strait of Hormuz and repeated attacks on commercial shipping near Oman, but no party had claimed responsibility for this strike.
