Trump Says Iran Deal Still Possible as U.S. Strikes Continue

U.S. President Donald Trump said a negotiated agreement with Iran remains possible even as American forces continue a third consecutive night of strikes. Speaking from the Oval Office, he said the sides had completed a deal one or two days earlier before Tehran sought further changes, and that Washington would not accept continued delay. Trump said the United States is striking Iranian offensive capabilities, reinstating an Iran-only maritime blockade and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to other traffic. He repeated that Iran will not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
