U.S. Opens Rare Daylight Strike Wave Against Iran

U.S. Central Command said it began a new wave of strikes against Iran at 6 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, making the operation a rare daylight attack after recent waves were conducted at night. The command said the strikes were intended to further degrade military capabilities Iranian forces used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian reporting cited more than 10 explosions around Bandar Abbas and Sirik. The daylight wave followed a seven-hour overnight operation in which U.S. aircraft, drones and naval vessels hit dozens of missile, drone, naval and coastal-defense targets near the strait and along Iran's coast.
