House Panel Advances $95 Billion Plan With $60 Billion for Iran War

The U.S. House Budget Committee advanced a fiscal 2027 budget resolution on a 20-14 party-line vote, opening a path for up to $95 billion in new spending. The framework authorizes committees to draft $60 billion for defense needs tied largely to the Iran war, $13 billion for intelligence, $12 billion for agriculture and $10 billion for election-related measures. Chairman Jodey Arrington said the military funding would supply bombs, ammunition and battlefield readiness, while Democrats opposed the package. The resolution now goes to the full House, and reports said it still faces Republican resistance and uncertainty in the Senate.
