IDF Says South Lebanon Interceptor Launch Followed False Identification

The IDF said Saturday morning that an interceptor was launched toward a false target in the area where Israeli forces are operating in southern Lebanon. The military said no public alerts were activated under policy, there was no security concern, and the incident is under review. Metula council head David Azoulay had told residents minutes earlier that an interception had occurred over Metula and that the matter was being checked. The army's clarification identified the launch as a false detection rather than a hostile aerial incursion.
