Police Evacuate Homes as Forest Fire Threatens Shimshit

Eight firefighting teams are battling a forest fire near Shimshit as strong winds drive the flames toward the community. Firefighters are working to halt the spread and protect homes, while aircraft from Israel's aerial firefighting squadron have joined the effort. KKL crews are supporting ground and air operations aimed at gaining control of the blaze. Israel Police began evacuating the first row of homes closest to the fire.
