Havat Gilad Fire Leaves 113 Residents Without Homes
Two days after the wildfire swept Havat Gilad in Samaria, damage assessments show 113 residents without homes. Fifteen houses were destroyed and about 10 others were partially burned, while local organizers began raising funds for temporary housing and psychological and financial assistance. Police arrested two Palestinians on suspicion of causing the blaze; the preliminary joint investigation said a discarded cigarette thrown from a vehicle ignited dry roadside vegetation, while the inquiry remains open. Residents whose homes and small businesses were lost said they intend to rebuild the community.
