Iran Says U.S. Talks Can Continue if They Serve National Interests
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said negotiations with the United States could continue if they serve Iran's national interests. He said Tehran had exchanged messages with intermediaries in recent days, while insisting the existing memorandum of understanding was clear and accusing Washington of noncompliance. The statement followed Secretary of State Marco Rubio's overnight declaration that the United States remained open to a diplomatic solution with Iran. Baghaei also condemned U.S. strikes on civilian infrastructure, singling out medical and health facilities.
