Israel's military confirmed it has built an earthen security barrier along Gaza's yellow line, with satellite imagery showing more than 23 kilometers constructed in recent months. The IDF said the barrier and a surrounding zone equipped with intelligence and technological assets are intended to prevent infiltration and protect troops and Israeli border communities. The longest near-continuous section runs about 17 kilometers from Khan Younis toward Gaza City, while a southern stretch expanded from about 500 meters to 2.4 kilometers between July 1 and 15. Further withdrawal under the ceasefire remains stalled, with Hamas disarmament the central unresolved condition.
