U.S. Official Says More Than 500 Troops Wounded in Iran War
A U.S. official said the number of American personnel wounded in the Iran war has climbed to well over 500. The Defense Casualty Analysis System currently lists 482 wounded, up from 413 on July 6. The official said the database significantly lags actual injuries because of how it is designed, rather than an intentional delay. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said nearly 100 service members had sustained some degree of injury since renewed U.S. strikes began July 7, and 96% had returned to duty.
