Hundreds of Jews Ascend Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av
Hundreds of Jewish visitors ascended Jerusalem's Temple Mount after it opened Thursday morning to mark Tisha B'Av, the fast commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples. Video from the site showed groups singing, praying and bowing during the visit. Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Yitzhak Wasserlauf were expected to join the visitors later in the day. The observance centered on the place where the Temples stood, Judaism's holiest site, as worshippers marked the anniversary through fasting, prayer and remembrance.
