Israeli Cities Open Public Shelters as Iran Missile Risk Rises

Municipalities including Ramat Gan, Karmiel and Eilat opened public bomb shelters as concern grew that escalating U.S.-Iran fighting could spill into Israel. Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama-Hacohen said an assessment found the chance of Iranian missile fire over the weekend had increased and was no longer negligible. The municipalities said the openings were precautionary; the IDF Home Front Command had not changed its public guidelines. Ramat Gan also urged residential building committees to prepare shared shelters, while municipal officials remained in contact with the Home Front Command.
