Katz Says Iranian Attack Would Free Israel to Strike All of Iran’s Infrastructure

Defense Minister Israel Katz said an Iranian attack on Israel would free Jerusalem from all existing constraints on its response. Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast for Defense Ministry employees, he said Israel would strike Iran’s national, military and civilian infrastructure, including energy sites, and push the country into the “Stone Age and darkness.” Katz said economic pressure, fear of an uprising and possible regime collapse could drive Tehran toward desperate measures. He added that Israel and the IDF are well prepared defensively and offensively, after what he described as two powerful Israeli strikes that destroyed Iran’s nuclear program and damaged strategic capabilities.
