Lt. Col. Ella Waweya, the IDF's Arabic-language spokesperson, said the military is at full offensive and defensive readiness for renewed fighting with Iran. In an interview Thursday night, she said Israel would not wait for missiles to fall or an enemy to reach its doorstep before preparing. Waweya said October 7 established that policies of containment, waiting for a first strike and relying on passive deterrence are no longer acceptable. Her comments came as Israeli defense leaders reviewed escalation scenarios and Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that an Iranian attack would bring a crushing response.
