Former Intelligence Chief Warns U.S. Support for Israel Is Eroding

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Tamir Hayman seated opposite an interviewer on a national security conference stage

Former Military Intelligence chief Tamir Hayman warned at a national security conference Monday that Israel’s bipartisan support in the United States is eroding, especially among voters under 50. Citing polling, he said 86% of Democrats and 56% of Republicans in that age group hold negative views of Israel, and called reliance on Marco Rubio’s possible future presidency a dangerous gamble. Hayman said Israel’s protection against sanctions is disappearing. He urged stronger ties with American Jewish communities and Europe, alongside a diplomatic vision that preserves Israel’s pursuit of peace and security.
