Katz Orders Dardik's Administrative Restriction Not Renewed

Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed security officials not to renew the administrative restriction barring Israeli farmer Tal Yinon Dardik from Judea and Samaria, and ordered that the matter be handled through other means. The directive followed a military appeals committee decision accepting Dardik's appeal after finding defects in how Central Command issued the order. Security officials suspect Dardik of involvement in a March assault in Khirbet Humsa; he denies participating. His lawyers are seeking his release while prison authorities monitor a hunger strike they say has lasted nearly three weeks.
