Prison Service Officer Arrested Over Aid to Jerusalem Murder Suspect

Police and the Israel Prison Service arrested a 34-year-old officer from Hod Hasharon on suspicion of obstructing the investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Benayahu Razi and breach of trust. Investigators say she had a personal relationship with an inmate at a central Israel prison, identified in reports as the brother of fugitive murder suspect Avior Sasson. She is suspected of working with the inmate to help Sasson evade police while the manhunt continues. The covert inquiry began after information received by the Prison Service, and investigators will decide after questioning whether to seek an extension of her detention.
