Police Commissioner Removes Yoav Eliasi From Tel Aviv Emergency-Squad Command

Police Commissioner Danny Levy removed rapper Yoav Eliasi, known as The Shadow, from command of a Tel Aviv District civilian emergency squad. The decision followed a published investigation alleging Eliasi used police connections for a Tel Aviv nightlife venue in which he held a stake. Recordings cited in the report captured him telling a partner he could keep police from closing the John Doe club and asking for an officer's name after a 4:30 a.m. closure. Eliasi said an officer at Lev Tel Aviv station was a close friend whom he would contact immediately.
