Givati Soldiers Leave Sde Teiman Base in Coordinated Protest

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration showing damaged Givati unit boards beside soldiers carrying backpacks as they walk away along a base road

Soldiers and commanders from Givati Brigade's Tzabar Battalion left Sde Teiman base without authorization after a dispute over company symbols. The IDF said the battalion commander ordered signs tied to an abnormal veteran-junior tradition removed, and called the departure inconsistent with military values and expected conduct; commanders are investigating. Reports differed on group size, describing dozens, more than 100, or hundreds. They said the troops objected after commanders physically removed or damaged the signs, and footage showed soldiers walking out while chanting against officers.
