IDF Dismissal Revealed in SLA Memorial Vandalism Case

New details disclosed Monday night show that the IDF dismissed a career NCO from service after he was involved in deliberately vandalizing the South Lebanon Army memorial in Metula about three weeks ago. A second soldier involved in the incident faced military disciplinary proceedings. Security-camera footage showed the soldiers breaking and removing the Lebanese flag installed at the memorial to represent Israel's bond with the Lebanese allies who aided its security. The flag was restored within the past day after the disciplinary process concluded; the Defense Ministry-built memorial, inaugurated in 2021, commemorates fallen SLA fighters and serves SLA veterans living in Israel.
