Two Israeli civilians reached the Mount Hermon area on Monday and crossed the border into Syrian territory, the IDF said. Troops dispatched to the scene located the pair, returned them to Israel and detained them before transferring the case to Israel Police. The military condemned the crossing as another serious disruption of operational activity and said it endangered soldiers serving in the area. The IDF called on law-enforcement authorities to prosecute those involved and prevent repeat attempts, describing the incident as a criminal offense.
