Tanker Reports Two Explosions Near Oman's Kumzar in Strait of Hormuz

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency issued a warning after receiving what it described as a time late report of an incident nine nautical miles southeast of Kumzar, Oman. The master of a tanker reported hearing two explosions while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The agency said the report confirms that the crew and the vessel are safe, and that no environmental damage has been reported. UKMTO logged the incident as an attack and advised vessels to transit with caution and to report any suspicious activity. The advisory did not give a time for the explosions or identify the tanker.
