PMO Disputes Report of New Eastern Rafah Reconstruction Approval

The Prime Minister’s Office disputed a new report that Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz had quietly approved the start of infrastructure work in eastern Rafah. The report said the decision was made about two weeks ago and would allow earthworks and preparation of electricity, water, and sewage systems in the IDF-controlled “Green Rafah” area. The PMO called the account a distortion of an older UAE pilot, said Gazan contractors would not perform the utility work, and said the IDF would supervise it. Both accounts place the project near the Yellow Line and outside Hamas rule.
