ZAKA Says Venezuela Aid Mission Helped Renew Ties With Israel

ZAKA said its humanitarian work in Venezuela after June's twin earthquakes helped create a channel that contributed to renewed ties between Israel and Venezuela. The Israeli rescue organization worked alongside Home Front Command teams after the 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes, which killed more than 6,000 people and injured at least 16,000. ZAKA CEO Zvi Hassid said the mission built a bridge of humanity, compassion and solidarity. International Division director Baruch Nidam praised the volunteers and said cooperation with local teams showed how life-saving work can build connections before formal diplomatic channels exist.
