The IDF confirmed that Muhammad Bassam Muhammad Mushtaha, a Hamas Shati' Battalion company commander, was eliminated in a strike in northern Gaza about two weeks ago. It said Mushtaha infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre and helped hold several Israeli hostages during the war. The military said he had recently tried to advance attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. It said precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used before the strike to mitigate civilian harm, and that Southern Command forces remain deployed under the agreement and will continue acting against threats.
