IDF Names Islamic Jihad Commander Killed in Khan Yunis as Be’eri Oct. 7 Abductor

The IDF Spokesperson said Tuesday that a strike in the Khan Yunis area on Sunday killed Tareq Anwar Khamis Ra’i, a company commander in the supply unit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. The military said that during the October 7 massacre, Khamis Ra’i infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri and took part in abducting an Israeli civilian it did not name. It said the terrorist had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and was eliminated to remove the threat. Precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used before the strike to limit harm to civilians. Troops under Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement.
