Israel Opens Cambodia as a New Export Market for Citrus

Israel's Plant Protection and Inspection Services and Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security have completed the regulatory process with Cambodian authorities opening Cambodia to Israeli citrus exports. From the coming export season, Israeli growers and exporters will be able to market oranges, clementines, lemons, grapefruits and pomelos there. The Israeli Citrus Growers Association puts the export potential at roughly 10,000 tons a year. Ministry Director General Oren Lavi said more markets for Israeli farmers mean stronger local agriculture and more competitive prices at home. The opening is part of a broader push into the Far East that also includes advancing access to Japan for watermelons and melons.
