Netanyahu and Tshisekedi Agree to Strengthen Israel–DR Congo Ties

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi in Jerusalem, where the leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral economic and security relations. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar attended the meeting. Netanyahu called Tshisekedi a good friend and said the visit would further strengthen a great friendship between the countries. The Congolese presidency said Tshisekedi's working visit also covered defense, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and high technology, along with July 27 memoranda and Israeli investment opportunities linked to the Lobito Corridor; no new contract, funding package or timetable was announced.
