Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of an empty paved road curving through damaged buildings and rubble in Quneitra, with a low hill behind them, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue chalk and pastel strokes with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

The IDF said it fired at a terrorist in southern Syria who was advancing attack plans that had reached an advanced stage. According to the military, the terrorist’s activity posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces operating in the area. The statement did not identify the terrorist, disclose the precise location, describe the planned attack or say whether the strike killed him. The IDF said it would continue operating to remove threats to its troops and Israeli civilians wherever required.
