Katz Says Judea and Samaria Terror Attacks Fall for Second Straight Year

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Palestinian terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria declined for a second consecutive year, reaching levels he described as unprecedentedly low. After a Central Command security assessment, Katz said officials reviewed the regional threat map, counterterrorism operations and settlement growth. He attributed much of the decline to evacuations from refugee camps in northern Samaria, the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and a permanent IDF presence in the camps. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended the assessment with Katz, the IDF chief of staff, the National Security Council chief and other senior commanders.
