The IDF said it struck Gaza’s Shati area on August 27, killing Ibrahim Nabil Ibrahim Bass, a Hamas military-wing commander who invaded Israel during the October 7, 2023 massacre. In a separate strike in Gaza City’s Sabra area, the military killed Hamdi Ahmad Hamid Kahlil, an observation-platoon commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The IDF said both men had advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and tried to restore their organizations’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. It said the strikes removed the threat and Southern Command troops remain deployed under the agreement to act against immediate threats.
