Likud Backs Shas Demand for Conscription Law Before Next Government Forms

Likud spokesman Guy Levy said the party hopes to pass a conscription law before the next government is formed, calling that “definitely the direction” for coalition agreements. Shas MK Yoav Ben-Tzur said the law must pass before Shas enters the next government and described the condition as unequivocal and agreed by all. Ben-Tzur said Shas erred in 2022 by not securing the legislation before other coalition measures. He added that Shas intends to remain with Netanyahu and the faith-based bloc.
