Deri Launches Shas Campaign, Accuses Haredi Insiders of Aiding Left

Shas chairman Aryeh Deri formally launched the party’s election campaign, telling a campaign conference that figures inside the Haredi community were cooperating with the left. He said the effort uses Haredi presentation and slogans while seeking to weaken support for Haredi parties, damage Haredi education and bring down the right-wing bloc. Deri said the left had invested large sums over the past two years in this effort. He urged supporters not to fall into what he described as a trap and said the activity was intended to harm the Haredi community from within.
