Israeli police and the IDF said forces recovered seven pistols during an ambush on an active smuggling route near the Jordan River. Police intelligence led detectives, Border Police tactical personnel and Jordan Valley and Emek Brigade troops to position along the route. The forces spotted a suspect armed with a knife and opened fire during an arrest procedure, hitting him, but he escaped. During the pursuit, they found a discarded bag holding seven pistols allegedly intended for smuggling into Israel, and transferred the weapons to the Judea and Samaria District Central Unit for investigation.
