Bank Leumi Begins Rolling Out Mobile App in Five Languages

Bank Leumi has begun gradually rolling out its mobile-banking app in Hebrew, English, Arabic, Russian and French, which it called a first for Israel’s banking system. Customers can select a preferred language and use translated screens to review shekel and foreign-currency accounts, order cards and checkbooks, make transfers including Zahav payments, exchange currency, open deposits and take loans. The bank said nearly 100% of common operations are already available in the Hebrew app, with more translated services planned. Banking Division head Eyal Efrat said the move would help hundreds of thousands of customers manage finances in the language most comfortable for them.
