Israel’s Summer Mortgage Lending Hits Record NIS 22.5 Billion

New mortgages taken in Israel totaled NIS 10.9 billion in August, 20% more than a year earlier, according to Bank of Israel data. Lending across July and August reached a record NIS 22.5 billion, up 13% from NIS 19.8 billion in the corresponding two months of 2025. Prime-linked loans accounted for NIS 2.3 billion, or 21% of August borrowing, while CPI-linked tracks were 10%. Bullet and balloon loans fell to NIS 1.4 billion, 13% of the monthly total, their lowest share since November 2023.
