Captured Hamas Internal Security Official Muein al-Arabid Sedated and Ventilated

Captured Hamas internal-security official Muein al-Arabid is sedated and ventilated in intensive care after his condition deteriorated following surgery. A Shin Bet unit operating with IDF forces captured him Tuesday in western Gaza City after an exchange of fire; a bullet entered his thigh, and it remains unclear who fired it. Israeli security officials view al-Arabid as a high-value intelligence source because his work included counterespionage, protecting senior Hamas figures, restoring Hamas governance in northern Gaza and hiding Israeli hostages. The Shin Bet told the medical team to make every effort to save his life so he can be interrogated.
