Rabbi Dov Landau Asks Gafni to Remain Degel HaTorah’s National Chairman

Rabbi Dov Landau asked MK Moshe Gafni to remain chairman of Degel HaTorah’s national movement even as he and MK Uri Maklev leave the party’s next Knesset slate. A statement from Landau’s household said the two received personal letters thanking them for years of public work under Torah sages, including their campaign over the status of yeshiva students. The statement said parliamentary ranks need refreshing to admit new representatives. Yaakov Asher is expected to head the Knesset slate, while Gafni would retain a senior party leadership role outside parliament.
