Gafni Accepts Degel HaTorah National Chairmanship as Maklev Stays in Leadership

MK Moshe Gafni agreed to serve as chairman of the national Degel HaTorah movement, according to a report published late Monday. MK Uri Maklev will remain in the party’s senior leadership. The development follows Rabbi Dov Landau’s request that Gafni continue leading the national movement, even as Gafni and Maklev are removed from the party’s slate for the next Knesset. The reported acceptance keeps Gafni in Degel HaTorah’s national leadership while separating that role from the party’s parliamentary list.
