IDF Says Gaza City Strike Killed Hamas Nukhba Company Commander Yosef Aqila

The IDF said a strike in Gaza City on Sunday killed Yosef Aqila, commander of a Nukhba company in Hamas’s military wing. According to the military, Aqila recently advanced plans to attack IDF troops and Israeli civilians and worked to rebuild Hamas capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. The IDF described him as an immediate threat and said it used precision munitions and aerial observation to reduce the risk to civilians. Southern Command forces remain deployed under the agreement and will continue operating against immediate threats, the military said.
