IDF Confirms Hamas Operative Farah Hamed Killed in Gaza Strike

Israeli forces killed Hamas military-wing operative Farah Hamed in a September 9 strike in central Gaza, the IDF confirmed. The operation was carried out jointly by the IDF, Shin Bet and Israel Police. Hamed, a former senior member of Hamas's West Bank Headquarters, recruited and directed operatives for attacks in Judea and Samaria and belonged to a Silwad cell linked to attacks that killed Shalom Har-Melech, Esther Galia and Zvi Goldstein. He also took part in the October 2003 Ein Yabrud shooting that killed three IDF soldiers and was released to Gaza in the 2011 Shalit exchange.
