Senior IDF Officials Call Katz’s PA War Statement Dangerous and Unnecessary

Senior IDF officials criticized Defense Minister Israel Katz’s warning that Israel would wage an all-out campaign against the Palestinian Authority if its forces turned their weapons on Israel or prepared an October 7-style attack. They said the warning was dangerous and unnecessary because the terrorist who stabbed a 19-year-old Israeli at Maoz Yehuda farm had no connection to the PA or its security services. One senior officer said the statement could inflame Judea and Samaria. Katz said terrorism there was at its lowest level in decades and that Israel would continue pursuing terrorists, strengthening Jewish communities and preserving security stability.
