Three M-16 rifles were stolen directly from soldiers at the Shayetet 13 naval commando base in Atlit at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. A soldier serving at the compound was arrested and questioned on suspicion of involvement, while the weapons remain missing. The Military Police Criminal Investigations Unit and Israel Police are conducting a joint investigation, and the findings are expected to be transferred to the Military Prosecution. The IDF said it views weapons theft with the utmost seriousness and is acting decisively with police.
