Yashar and Democrats Announce Surplus-Vote Deal for October Election

Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party announced that it would sign a surplus-vote agreement with Yair Golan's Democrats for Israel's October election. The Democrats welcomed the arrangement, which allows paired lists to combine leftover votes when Knesset seats are allocated. Yashar said the four parties in the Change and Hope camp can now pair internally to reduce wasted votes. Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu had previously agreed to pair with the Together list led by Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.
