Shas and United Torah Judaism Announce Surplus-Vote Pact and Joint Torah Priorities

Shas and United Torah Judaism announced on Sunday a surplus-vote agreement for the election to the 26th Knesset. Shas chairman Aryeh Deri and United Torah Judaism chairman Yaakov Asher said the agreement reflects the factions’ continued close cooperation under the guidance of their senior Torah sages. They said the two parties would continue to coordinate on core issues in the next Knesset. Their stated priorities include safeguarding Torah life, protecting the standing of yeshiva students, and strengthening Torah educational institutions. The announcement links the electoral agreement to those shared commitments.
