Pindrus Criticizes Ohana’s Election as Speaker in New Interview

United Torah Judaism MK Yitzhak Pindrus criticized the coalition’s election of Amir Ohana as Knesset speaker in an interview released Thursday. He connected his objection to Ohana being openly gay and described the choice as a mistake from his religious perspective. Pindrus said that, to his knowledge, leading Torah sages had not approved the selection at the start of the coalition’s term. Speaking with interviewer Avraham Freund, he also criticized the confrontational approach taken to the earlier judicial overhaul, saying leading Torah sages had not favored that course.
